Today, May 31, the diocese of Broken Bay celebrates its patronal feast day for Our Lady, Star of the Sea. There isn't a lot on the internet about devotion to Our Lady under this title compared to others of her titles, eg Our Lady of the Rosary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel etc. While prayers were going on this afternoon in honour of Our Lady, Star of the Sea, several invocations suitable for a litany started flowing.

Underpinning the devotion to Our Lady Star of the Sea, besides the long tradition of ocean going persons seeking her intercession, is a sermon by St Bernard of Clairvaux which is included in the Office of Readings for the feast day.
When ever you pray this Litany, besides your own important intentions, please add an intention for the needs and welfare of Broken Bay diocese (we've only had 2 priestly ordinations in the last 15 years).
** When time permits, the text of the litany - for private devotion only - will be added here. (It needs extensive re-formatting, and the first revious attempt was not a pretty sight).
